V3 Fights 77
V3 Fights 77 is set to go down at Minglewood Hall in Memphis, Tennessee this weekend, and the amateur fight card features 11 bouts, including three title tilts.
In the main event, Ashton Kirby (7-1) will defend his lightweight title against Johnathan Williams (5-0).
Still just 19 years old, the Arkansas native Kirby looks to rebound from the first loss of his career against Josiah Harrell at Ohio Combat League 3 last month. Still ranked as the No. 1 amateur lightweight in Arkansas by Tapology, he has six wins via submission.
Williams fights out of Georgia and comes in looking for his third win of the year. After a head kick knockout of Shane Russell, he topped James Wells via decision at V3 Fights 75 in June. He’s ranked as the No. 3 amateur welterweight in Tennessee.
The co-main event features welterweight champion Paul Kimble (7-3) defending his title against Quadarrius McGinnis (3-0).
Tennessee’s Kimble is ranked as the No. 3 amateur welterweight in Tennessee and defends his title for the first time after winning it via knockout over Kevin Cole at V3 Fights 75.
McGinnis comes in from Alabama looking to remain unbeaten. He will attempt to earn his second win of the month after submitting Sam McAlpin via Americana at SHP 53.
The third title features a contest for the vacant flyweight crown, as Joseph Tran (4-2) and Logan Nelson (2-0) square off.
Tran represents Memphis as he has produced three submission wins in his career thus far, including an arm bar over Trinity Swint at V3 Fights 74.
Just 18 years old, Nelson makes the trek from Mississippi where he has produced victories in his first two bouts after making his debut earlier this year.
