Honor FC 11: Nightmare on Arlington
Honor Fighting Championship returns next month with their eleventh event, and a pair of amateur titles will be up for grabs at “Nightmare on Arlington“.
Flyweight champion Luke Chokan (6-2) will defend his title for the first time against Andre Sanders (4-3), while Easton Johnson (5-3) and Jacob Bostic (4-1) will do battle for the vacant featherweight crown.
Chokan has won his last three bouts, including a split decision over Jeff Offak at Honor FC 8 in March to claim the promotion’s 125-pound title. Half of his wins have come via submission, and he’s ranked as the No. 3 amateur flyweight in Ohio according to Tapology.
Sanders makes the trek from Michigan looking to pick up his third consecutive win. After a decision over Jeff Baughman in May snapped a three fight losing streak, he topped veteran Victor Guarriello at Made Men Promotions in West Virginia earlier this month. He’s ranked as the No. 14 amateur bantamweight in his home state.
The first round of a four-main featherweight tournament took place at Honor FC 10 in August, with Johnson and Bostic victorious in those bouts. Now, they’ll square off for the title.
Johnson picked up his second straight first round stoppage after returning from a three and a half year layoff, as he submitted Ty Mees with a triangle choke at Honor FC 10. Earlier this year, he stopped Parker Wills via TKO at Honor FC 8, and he has four career wins via stoppage. He’s ranked as the No. 6 amateur featherweight in Ohio.
Bostic picked up his fourth career win via submission at Honor FC 10, as he forced Josh Kissinger to tap to a rear naked choke with just two seconds remaining in their bout. He’s ranked as the No. 10 amateur featherweight in Ohio.
Honor FC 11 takes place on Oct. 19 at Chapparells Community Center in Akron, Ohio, and the main event features a pro featherweight bout between Josh Rohler and Frank Caraballo.
