Honor FC 12
Honor Fighting Championship 12 is set to go down at Harvest Ridge in Millersburg, Ohio tonight, and the fight card is set with 11 bouts. That includes two pro bouts, with one title on the line.
One of the top amateur prospects in Ohio, Mast posted a 7-1 amateur record with title wins in his last four bouts. With five wins via stoppage, he most recently finished Chris Fattig via TKO in just 40 seconds at Honor FC 10 in August. He’s ranked as the No. 1 amateur welterweight in Ohio and No. 3 in the Midwest.
A native of Kentucky, McDowell made his pro debut in October after a three year layoff. The win over Scott Johnston puts him as the No. 9 ranked pro welterweight in Kentucky. As an amateur, he had a 10-7 record and competed in ten title bouts, including winning titles for Turf Wars, HRMMA, and Trotter’s Legacy.
The co-main event features a rematch for the featherweight title, as Josh Rohler (5-3) welcomes Pittsburgh’s John De Jesus (11-8). The two fighters first squared off in the main event at Honor FC 4 in April 2018, with De Jesus taking a unanimous decision win with effective striking and takedown defense.
Since that bout, De Jesus is 3-2 including winning titles with the Pinnacle FC and 247 FC promotions in his hometown of Pittsburgh. In November, he put on an impressive performance with a second round TKO over Bellator veteran Ethan Goss to take home 247’s 145-pound title. He has six stoppage wins, including four via knockout or TKO. He’s 7-3 in his last ten bouts after starting his career 4-5, and he’s ranked as the No. 3 pro featherweight in Pennsylvania according to Tapology.
The bout against De Jesus is the only blemish on Rohler’s record since his pro debut, and he’s earned all five of his wins via stoppage, including five submissions. Most recently, he finally had a bout after a year and a half layoff littered with opponents missing weight. He took full advantage of that opportunity, submitting Antonio Castillo Jr. via toe hold in the first round at Bayfront Brawl 9. However, that decision was overturned to a disqualification by the athletic commission. He’s ranked as the No. 2 pro featherweight in Ohio.
The amateur portion of the card features a trio of 2-0 fighters looking to stay unbeaten. Eddie Flinner (2-0) takes on Alec Price (3-2) at welterweight, Brandon Billiter (2-0) faces Robert Presley(5-5) at bantamweight, and Jake Zack (2-0) squares off against Michaelangelo Turner (1-0) at flyweight.
