Rivers Rumble MMA
Noted boxing promotion Made Men Promotions is set to host its first mixed martial arts event in Pittsburgh, and multiple fighters with strong ties to the Steel City will be in action at Rivers Rumble IX on July 14th. The outdoor event takes place at Rivers Casino on Pittsburgh’s North Shore.
Stout Training’s Mike Wilkins (8-4) will face Ladarious Jackson (6-4) in one lightweight bout, while The Academy MMA’s Khama Worthy (10-6) will square off against Raymond Banda (5-2) in another 155-pound contest.
A one-time Bellator MMA veteran, “Iron City” Wilkins fights in his hometown for the first time since 2015, when he lost to Rob Hanna at Gladitors of the Cage 7. He also competed four times for CFFC, and most recently topped Brett Martinez at Bellator 186 last November.
Jackson comes in from Florida looking to spoil Wilkins’ homecoming. He’s 4-2 in his last six bouts, including a victory over Luciano Santos at Titan FC 48 earlier this year.
Worthy has been a mainstay competing in Pittsburgh since his pro debut in 2012. He’s competed 10 times in his hometown, mostly for the Pinnacle FC promotion, where he holds a 8-1 record. Most recently, he snapped a two-fight losing streak by topping Mike Roberts at Pinnacle FC 16 in March.
Banda comes in from Texas looking to snap a two-fight losing streak. After starting his career 5-0, he’s fallen via decision in his last two outings.
