Main event set for Colosseum Combat XXXII

Joe Lile Jr.

It looks like Colosseum Combat has announced the first fight for the upcoming event and it just so happens to be the main event. Not just any match-up, no, it will be for the promotion’s professional lightweight title. Vision MMA fighter Tyler Combs (15-11) will meet Joe Lile Jr. (5-2) of Fischer’s BJJ & Boxing.

Less than two weeks out from an impressive win, Tyler Combs submitted Daniel Head early in the third round earning. The victory earned Combs, a veteran of 26 professional fights, his first title fight in more than three years. Having competed inside the cage for more than a decade, the last several years haven’t been too kind to the “Tyrant”.

His win over Head was the first in the last four years. Does one win mean anything? Maybe, maybe not. Although judging by his in-cage performance, it does appear that Combs has turned the corner in his career. This title fight could be exactly what he needed to put his career back on track.

However, looking to earn his first title as a professional, Joe Lile Jr. is looking to bounce back from a recent loss. Last summer at Coveted Fighting Championship 3, Lile Jr. made his way into uncharted territory when he went to Ohio for the first time. It was an unlucky visit for the Indiana resident as he came up on the losing side of the decision against top contender George Comer.

Originally, the two of them were scheduled to meet last September but Lile Jr. suffered an injury that forced him to withdraw from the fight. Unfortunately, a replacement for Combs was not found. “I hate to lose fights, but I’ll scrap it before I put a can in there with Tyler Combs,” stated Colosseum Combat owner Mark Slater. “But if it’s a fight that makes sense, I’d do whatever to save his fight.

After nearly six months has passed it looks like these two lightweights will finally have the opportunity to step into the cage. This time around there is more at stake as the winner will be walking out of the National Guard Armory in Kokomo, Indiana with a belt around their waist.

Colosseum Combat XXXII takes place on May 2. Stay tuned to for more information as it becomes available.
