Lineup set for New League Fights X with Troy Lamson-Reggie Merriweather title headliner

New League Fights X

New League Fights X

New League Fights X is set to go down this weekend in Maumee, Ohio just outside of Toledo, and the event features a total of 13 bouts, including three in the pro ranks.

In the headliner, Troy Lamson (10-2) and Reggie Merriweather (13-11) will square off for the lightweight title.

Lamson comes in from Michigan looking for his fifth straight win. After back to back losses, “Pretty Boy” has gone on a roll and is starting to get whispers for a shot in a bigger organization. He’s ranked as the No. 2 pro lightweight in Michigan and has five wins via submission and three via TKO.

Merriweather had a five-fight winning streak snapped in his last outing when he dropped a decision against Tom Shoaff at Colosseum Combat XLIII in February. The Vision MMA product has produced six of his wins via knockout or TKO and is ranked as the No. 11 pro lightweight in Indiana.

In the co-feature, Shawn Rall (2-2) looks for his third win as he faces Chicago’s Chris Johnson (3-7) at bantamweight.

Rall has alternated wins and losses in his young pro career, with his last outing being a loss against Jay Perrin at Cage Titans 38 last month. Both of his wins as a pro have come the exact same way – via rear naked choke in just 26 seconds. He’s ranked as the No. 11 pro bantamweight in Ohio.

Johnson steps up on short notice as he represents Team Top Notch out of Chicago. He’s won two of his last three bouts after taking a year and a half off.

The third pro bout features a rematch from their amateur days, as Cory Brecker (0-0) looks to pick up a second win over Chaka Worthy (0-0).

Breckner topped Worthy in their first meeting at Caged Madness 48 a year ago, handing the Pittsburgh native his only loss as an amateur. That win capped a perfect 6-0 amateur run for Breckner, and he looks to keep the momentum going as a pro. He’s ranked as the No. 2 amateur bantamweight in Ohio.

Worthy looks for redemption as he gets a chance to erase his only loss thus far. The Academy MMA product produced four of his amateur wins via knockout or TKO, and ended with a 6-1 amateur record and the No. 1 amateur bantamweight ranking in Ohio.

The amateur card is highlighted by a middleweight bout featuring Justin Brown (6-1) against Victor Gruetman (5-1), and a featherweight bout pitting Yohe Rojas (6-0) against Marcus Crawford (4-2).
