It was a great night for Cincinnati at PFL 1 last night in Long Island, New York, as three fighters with ties to the area all picked up victories. The event kicked off Season 2 for the promotion, which made its debut on ESPN 2 and ESPN+.

Most notably, Middletown native and judo Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison (4-0) picked up a victory in the night’s main event, as she earned a unanimous decision over Larissa Pacheco (11-3). The win earned her 3 points and put her in a tie for second place behind Sarah Kaufman in the league standings. Kayla trains out of the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York and is now unbeaten in four bouts under the PFL banner.

Tied with Harrison in second place in the women’s lightweight standings is Roberta Samad (5-0), who earned a unanimous decision over Moriel Charneski (3-6) earlier in the night. Samad (formerly known as Roberta Paim Rovel) is originally from Brazil but now works as a coach at Drive MMA in Harrison, Ohio.
