Jeremy Pender and James Porter meet for Colosseum Combat title

Colosseum Combat 51 is approaching and Mark Slater has put together a solid main event. Jeremy Pender will meet James Porter for the Colosseum Combat bantamweight title on November 16th in Kokomo.

The headliner will actually be a rematch of a 2015 fight between the two. The pair met just over four years ago at Colosseum Combat XXXIII. That fight had Pender finishing Porter with a second round submission. Pender has fought eight times since then while Porter took some time off, recently coming back to get a win over Michael Shields last November.

Porter and Pender

James Porter has some tough fights on his resume. He fought current UFC standout Sergio Pettis followed by a fight against former UFC bantamweight champ Cody Garbrandt. He has five wins by submission as a professional. The 27 year old started his pro career back in 2011 as did Pender.

Jeremy Pender has won back to back title fights under the HRMMA banner. He defeated Rob Walker in Dayton in 2018 and dispatched Donnie Ballou earlier this month. He has won three of his last four fights and comes in with a sharp ground arsenal. He has 16 career wins with 14 of those coming by submission. At 32 he looks to be hitting his stride and has ditched the retirement status for now.

Colosseum Combat 51 takes place at the Kokomo Events and Conference Center on November 16th. For ticket information visit and stay close to BluegrassMMA for more on this event.
