Kentucky’s longest running promotion will expand its operation in 2018 as they set their sights on Southern Ohio. Promoter Vanessa Higdon has received her license to begin promoting and Brandon “Hardrock” Higdon will be the licensed matchmaker. To date the company has put on 97 events in cities across Kentucky.
In recent years the promotion has used both Florence and Covington as destinations for events in Northern Kentucky. Turfway Park played host to several events before the company moved to the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in July of 2017.
Brandon Higdon seemed excited about the opportunity to reach new fighters and use fighters that have been in his stable fight a little closer to home.
“This expansion is really to just build off of our events that we’ve been holding in Northern Kentucky. We’ve used Southern Ohio fighters to help headline and fill cards in Florence as well as Covington so moving north can help us attract more of the fighters in the area and help them further their careers. We are excited about adding new locations to our already packed scheduled of events.”
Hardrock MMA has held 98 events to date and will pass the century mark this summer. Hardrock MMA 99 will take place at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. Hardrock MMA 101 will take place in Dayton, OH.
The promotion will debut in Dayton on September 1st. Promoter Vanessa Higdon relayed that she was excited for the challenge and expansion.
After doing 98 shows in Kentucky I feel like we have room to grow and promote our brand. Southern Ohio seemed to be a great location because of our relationship with the fighters that are already there. Hardrock MMA looks to build on our momentum and help with the expansion of the B2 Fighting Series. It will be a challenge but our team is up for it.”
