It was a sad turn of events yesterday when we learned that 34 year old former KOTC champ and local fighter Billy Ayash had passed away. Ayash had just competed on September 27th at Ruckus in the Cage. Many people took to Facebook to mourn the loss.
Chris Smith, promoter of Ruckus in the Cage, posted the details of the memorial service. It reads as follows:
The arrangements for Billy’s Final Celebration have been made. Please share this information with anyone who wishes to attend, or knows someone who wishes to attend. The event will be catered and there will be plenty for everyone to eat and drink during the event. Billy would have had it no other way.
The event will be held on November 2nd, from 2:00-5:00pm. It will be held indoors at The Clubhouse at Coonskin Park (Harth Room), 2000 Coonskin Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.Coonskin Park can be reached at 304-341-8017.
What we are asking for (as soon as possible) from his friends and acquaintances are photos, pictures of Billy that can be included in a slideshow remembering and celebrating his life. There are two ways to have your photos included:
1) Email them to [email protected]
2) Mail them to:
850 Jonash Ln.
Saint Albans, WV 25177
Pictures WILL BE RETURNED to you (if requested) after they have been scanned into the slideshow. Just make sure your return address is legible on the envelope you use to send in your photos
Billy’s brother & I decided that this would be the best way to bid farewell to Billy. We knew him better than anyone & neither of us could imagine having a “traditional” funeral for Billy. Billy was far from being a “traditional” kind of guy. Billy LOVED a good party…especially one that was centered around him. He wouldn’t want any of his loved ones sitting in a church mourning him. He would want us all to be celebrating him…and so, that’s what we’re going to do.
I want to make it extremely clear that EVERYONE is welcome at his celebration! I don’t care if its an ex girlfriend or someone that any of you personally have issues with. This is not about YOU, nor is it about me…its about Billy. Anyone that ever meant anything to him will be welcomed by me with open arms. The same goes for photos. I want to see ALL of your memories with Billy. It will not bother me in the least if there are other women in the photos. Billy lived a very full life before he met me…this is a celebration of his life, not just of our relationship.
