Hardrock MMA 99

Hardrock MMA 99 is just over a month away, but the fight card is filling up fast as five pro bouts are set to go down at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.

Added to the fight card is a 195-pound title bout between Billy Horne (16-4) and Portland Pringle (10-10), as well as a flyweight title bout between Donnie Ballou (4-0) and Rob Walker (5-6).

“Mojo” puts his eight-fight winning streak on the line, dating back to a victory over Trey Houston at Bellator 78 in 2012. The Cincinnati native has earned 12 wins via submission, and is ranked as the No. 1 pro light heavyweight in Kentucky.

Pringle is one of the most active fighters in the area, as the Kentucky native competed four times in 2017. Unfortunately, he lost all four of those bouts, including against Chris Curtis and UFC veteran Dom Steele.

Ballou has earned all four of his victories via first round submission since turning pro in late 2016. Most recently, he topped Lloyd Thornton at Colosseum Combat XLIII in February, and he’s ranked as the No. 3 pro bantamweight in Kentucky.

Walker comes in from the Dayton area with four first round wins. He’s ranked as the No. 10 pro flyweight in Ohio and looks to snap out of a two-fight losing streak.

Vision MMA’s Ethan McGee (0-0) will also make his pro debut against Kellen VanCamp (0-1), and Jamal Mohammed (2-1) looks to rebound from his first pro loss when he faces Michael Shields (3-8).

McGee makes the jump to the pro ranks after a 10-8 amateur run. He won his last three bouts in 2017 after a hiatus of nearly two years. He’s ranked as the No. 6 amateur flyweight in Kentucky.

VanCamp looks to shake the nasty taste of a knockout loss in his pro debut, as he fell against Van Vo at Colosseum Combat XLIV in just 61 seconds last month. That was his first loss, as he posted a 10-0 amateur record before turning pro.

After impressive stoppages in his first two pro bouts, Mohammed looks to bounce back from a decision loss against Ken Beverly in his last outing. He’s ranked as the No. 5 pro bantamweight in Kentucky.

Shields will look to continue his momentum after coming in off of a first round submission over Cody Gabelman at Premier MMA Championship 6 in February.

We previously reported that Evva Johnson will face Marissa Pender, and that the amateur portion of the card will feature a trio of title bouts.

Hardrock MMA 99 takes place on June 23, and you can purchase tickets here.
