247 FC: Brawl in the Burgh
The fight card is coming together for the sophomore offering for 247 FC, as “Brawl in the Burgh” takes place next month in the Pittsburgh area.
In the main event, Khama Worthy (13-6) defends his lightweight title against Bellator veteran Adam Ward (16-11).
Pittsburgh’s Worthy has been the face of 247 FC through two events, as he topped Joey Munoz via decision in the promotion’s debut event in March for his fourth straight win. “The Death Star” has nine wins via stoppage, including seven via knockout or TKO.
A member of Chicago’s Gilbert Grappling, Ward looks to snap a two-fight losing streak, including his most recent outing in his Bellator debut against Khuukhenkhuu Amartuvshin in May. Eight of his wins have come via stoppage, including six submissions.
The co-main event is also set, as Pittsburgh native Jonas Rubiano (1-1) looks for his second straight pro win against Danny Maldonado (0-0).
After coming up short in his pro debut, Rubiano stopped Chris McKinney via TKO at Rivers Rumble MMA for his first pro win last July.
Maldonado comes from New York to make his pro debut after a 4-4 amateur record.
On the amateur side of the card, The Academy’s Justin Patton (5-3) will face Ali Rexhepi (6-0-1) in a bout that can be exclusively reported by BluegrassMMA.
Patton has won three straight bouts including a TKO over Steve Williams at IT Fight Series 86 in March.
Rexhepi comes in from New York and has four wins via stoppage, including three submissions, but this will be his first bout in over a year. His last outing was a decision over Nicolas Kambasis at FCP 5.
247 FC: Brawl in the Burgh takes place July 27 at Printscape Arena in Canonsburg, PA.
